What’s up Guys!
Today I bring you a location review of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Chiang Rai is a small city in the north of Thailand. It’s the gateway to the golden triangle and it’s easy to reach from Chiang Mai. It’s a beautiful part of the world, but is it Single Man’s Paradise? Let’s get into it!
Chiang Rai, Thailand – Women Rating 3/5
Prior to my trip to Chiang Rai, I did a quick search on my favorite dating websites Thai Cupid and Thai Friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of results that showed up in the search. Chiang Rai is a small city but there’s certainly enough women around to keep a single man entertained.
The girls in Chiang Rai seemed very sweet and down to earth. It seems like Thai girls are more friendly and innocent the farther you get away from the big cities. I think the big city has a tendency to harden a girl… They become much more bratty and materialistic. That’s just been my experience when dating in Bangkok.
I was only in Chiang Rai for a few days so I didn’t do any dating. Many of the girls I messaged on the dating websites responded days later when I was already back in Chiang Mai… I should have planned ahead and messaged these girls a few weeks earlier! Oh well, lesson learned.
Just know that if you plan on visiting Chiang Rai you can easily find yourself a girlfriend. It’s not a buffet of women like Bangkok, but you will find plenty of sweet young ladies there.
Mongering in Chiang Rai, Thailand
Chiang Rai has a decent mongering scene. I was actually surprised by the number of options seeing that it’s a sleepy little city. Just south of the clock tower you will find a street full of beer bars. There aren’t any stunners working in these bars but you can scrounge yourself up a decent piece of pussy if you look around.
Jetyod Road is the main street full of beer bars. There are several other side streets off of Jetyod Road which also have bars, massage parlors and hotels. I stayed at a little guest house right on Jetyod Road and everything was within walking distance.
Chiang Rai is a quiet little city so don’t expect raging nightlife. That said, there’s plenty of fun to be had for a single guy passing through town. There were a handful of back packers and mongers roaming the bars and the Thai ladies were all ready to party.
I got pretty drunk on some Tequila shots while playing pool with this ugly little bar girl. Sweet young thing, but she wasn’t winning any beauty pageants, that’s for sure. Her grill was a tangled mess but she had a tight little body. I decided NOT to bar fine her and she seemed upset. Sorry teerak…
My back was a bit sore from riding my tiny Honda Click all day. FUCK those bikes are not designed for tall farang. I decided to get a massage from the fattest, oldest Thai lady I could find. Really I was after a quality massage so I wanted someone with experience.
I enjoyed a classic Thai massage and I told this old broad to go hard and hurt me. 😀 Nothing better then a good Thai massage… At the end, she pointed to my dick and I gave her a smile and a nod. A few pumps of the oil into her hand and she went to work on my pole. She stroked a huge load out of my ball sack and it was time for bed. Another great day in paradise. 😀
This city is not Pattaya… But it still covers all the bases. Cute girls, some mongering options. Nothing special, but you won’t have a problem draining your balls in Chiang Rai. Women rating 3/5.
Chiang Rai, Thailand – Cost Of Living Rating 5/5
Chiang Rai is cheap! I stayed in a decent guest house for $10 a night. Here’s a hotel with good ratings for only $6 a night!
That’s the beautiful thing about traveling in Thailand. You can live in hotels and it’s still cheaper then renting an apartment in the west. No cooking, no cleaning, no utilities bills, no long contracts. Just fun and freedom! 😀
I’ve heard that rental prices in Chiang Rai are even cheaper then Chiang Mai. That’s impressive considering Chiang Mai is known as one of the most inexpensive cities to live in Thailand.
I did a quick search on craigslist and found a 2 bedroom / 2 bath house for 10,000 baht per month. That’s the same price as a studio apartment on the outskirts of Bangkok. I’m sure you can find even better deals then that if you hit the streets with your Thai girlfriend.

Chiang Rai, Thailand – Quality of Life Rating 4/5
Chiang Rai is a pleasant little city. It’s relatively clean, quiet and has everything you need to survive. I banged it for a point because it’s boring. Really there is not much to see in the city and I would go crazy if I lived there long term. However, there are several reasons why you should visit Chiang Rai if you’re in the region.
Things To Do In Chiang Rai, Thailand
Go To The Night Market
When I rolled into town I was exhausted from riding my motorbike all day. I just wanted to sit my ass in a chair, order some Thai food and drink a beer. Luckily, I found just what I was looking for…
The Chiang Rai night bazaar is the perfect place to have dinner. There’s a food court with food stalls selling every Thai dish you can imagine. Yes, they even have the fried grass hoppers and bug larvae if your Thai girlfriend wants a snack. 😀
There’s even a concert stage where a live band was playing rock music. I don’t understand much Thai, but I still enjoyed the show while kicking back several large bottles of Leo beer and snacking on a plate of fried seafood. The night market is big and it offers everything you could ever want to purchase.
The night bazaar is a great place to hang out at night. Be sure to brush up on your Thai language so you can pick up some of the cute girls working at the shops. 😀
Visit The White Temple
The White Temple, also know as Wat Rong Khun, is one of the most interesting temples I’ve seen in Thailand. Even if you don’t give a shit about temples and you’ve seen enough to last a lifetime, I still recommend you visit this place.
This temple is more like a piece of modern artwork then a traditional Buddhist temple. You really need to take an hour and walk around this place. Pictures just don’t do it justice. The attention they paid to all the little details is incredible.
Tour The Golden Triangle
The Golden Triangle is a name given to the mountainous region where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet at the borders. This area is the 2nd largest producer of the worlds Heroin. This is a great place to smoke some opium with the hill tribe drug lords! 😀
Seriously though, I doubt you will stumble upon any drug factories if you stick to the main roads… The attraction of the Golden Triangle area is it’s beautiful landscape. If you like riding motorcycles then northern Thailand offers some of the best riding in all of Asia.
There’s even a website dedicated to riding in the Golden Triangle. That site is a gold mine for info on riding in south east Asia. Be sure to check that out prior to taking your trip.
One of the highlights of my entire life was riding a motorbike all over the north of Thailand. Some of the scenery in the rural mountains of Thailand is simply incredible. I will most definitely be going back again and touring with a proper motorcycle.
The Best Place To Ride a Motorcycle in Asia
If you’re into motorcycles then Thailand is the best place to live in Asia. First of all, a tourist can own a REAL motorcycle without much hassle. In Vietnam, it’s a pain in the ass to buy a big bike…
You need a special kind of license for anything over 175cc. Even if you decide to get the license, you will pay big bucks to get a real motorcycle. Import taxes are huge in Vietnam and that same motorcycle you can buy in Thailand would be about double the price in Vietnam. On top of all that, you will be a HUGE target for thieves and police. No thanks… I’ll keep driving beat up scooters in Vietnam.
What about Cambodia??? Ehh, where are you going to ride there? Dusty ass flat roads to nowhere with red mud caking up your bike. Fuck riding in that shit…
How about Laos? Laos is beautiful and might even be better for riding then Thailand. Only problem is, it’s illegal to shag the local ladies there! Fuck that…
If the government would let us farang bone the lovely Lao girls then I think they would get A LOT more visitors every year. For now, I could never stay there long term unless I brought a foreign girlfriend with me… A man’s gotta get his dick wet you know?
Therefore, Thailand is the best country for guys who love riding and want a comfortable lifestyle as well. The one thing I really miss about America is riding motorcycles. I would love to buy a decent bike along with full gear and go on some long cross country tours. I’m leaning towards Thailand for this adventure.
Chiang Rai isn’t the most exciting city in Thailand but it’s a comfortable place to hang out for a while. It’s got everything you need to be happy. Quality of life 4/5.
Women – 3/5
Cost of Living – 5/5
Quality of Life – 4/5
Chiang Rai, Thailand – Single Man’s Paradise Rating – 12/15
If you’re looking to live in a laid back Thai city then Chiang Rai could be for you. It’s cheap, the surroundings are beautiful and the weather gets nice and cool at times. I found the city a bit too dull for me to stay long term, but I enjoyed my trip.
If Chiang Mai is getting too busy for you then try Chiang Rai. It feels like a much smaller version. If you make money online, I think it’s a decent place to lay low and get some work done for a few months.
